I love the recording bar that shows what actions you took, but what REALLY gets me is the way the puzzles at the end of the demo start to have you plan ahead to help your past self out; I've seen clone/looper games, but I haven't seen it done with a visual recording bar/keystroke log like this before, and the twist on the idea is a lot of fun!

I appreciate that the 'powerups' are sometimes both reversals themselves, and also in that case a reversal since it's a lot harder to drive under their influence, so to speak!

I love the role reversal here; powering up the enemies in a survival wave shooter is a great way to twist things, and I appreciated the three-choices system, since being able to choose from anything would feel too open-ended and be prone to quick optimization.

If you like games and media like their comps (Life is Strange, Gravity Falls), you’ll probably love Scarlet Hollow. Great characters and a diverse array of people, genre appropriate but still surprising narrative beats, and genuinely different experiences for multiple playthroughs make this my favorite visual novel of the past few years.

I think the creativity was great, but I couldn't figure out how to progress--or it didn't acknowledge that I had diced and rolled and put the ingredients in, so I just got stuck after the first level.

I beat the game, and by the end I was enjoying the experience! Unfortunately, I think possibly due to screen size, at first I didn't see the buttons on how to play, and interaction was a little confusing. I also thought the rerolls were per playthrough, so I didn't use any until the second to last wave.

Are there any healing abilities? I bet not, but maybe a magic staff with a combo of damage, ignore armor, shields, and a minor heal would be interesting?

Argh, I keep getting myself killed because I get too greedy and end turns too close to enemies! Gotta play it safe next run...
